Get To Know Dr. Serban Nicolaescu
Dr. Nicolaescu, also known as “Dr. Nic” to his patients, is a proud graduate of Manheim Township High School in Lancaster, PA. After attending college at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, he returned to the area and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Nic was inducted in the Matthew Cryer Honor Society, an organization reserved for the top ten graduates of each class. After receiving his DMD, he remained at UPenn to complete the Orthodontic residency program.
After finishing school, Dr. Nic spent four years working in private practice outside of Philadelphia and taught part-time clinical orthodontics at UPenn. In 2012, he moved back to his former hometown and currently resides in Manheim township with his wife, three children, and Maisy, their lively miniature goldendoodle.
Dr. Nicolaescu is an active member of various professional associations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Pennsylvania Dental Association. He is an avid reader of history and enjoys sailing, drawing, and outdoor activities. Dr Nic also loves science, learning about native plants and bugs and is always looking for a recommendation for a good podcast.

What to Expect
YOUR FIRST VISIT
When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by our friendly team and invited to relax in our welcoming reception area while completing any new patient forms. Once you’re ready, we’ll bring you to a private consultation room, and we will take photos and digital x-rays. During your visit, Dr. Nic will perform an exam and review the digital x-rays and photos taken earlier.
Together, you’ll discuss your orthodontic needs and goals, explore treatment options, and create a plan that works for you. Dr. Nic will take the time to answer all your questions and ensure you feel confident about the next steps.
What to Bring
Your time is valuable to us! In order to help make your visit more efficient, we ask that you bring the following items to your appointment:
- ID
- Insurance card
- Orthodontic referral (if applicable)
- Any dental records you would like to share with us
